Ok, so now that I’ve got some Montell Jordan stuck in your head, it’s down to business!
The most complicated part of hiring a professional pet sitter is just getting started. Each pet care business owner does things differently, so I wanted to break down our process in a very straightforward manner so you’ll have a better understanding of what to expect.
You’ll need to start looking for pet sitters or dog walkers as early as possible! There is so much to do when hiring a care provider and it’s always a good idea to interview a few different providers to find the perfect fit. Check out their websites to get ideas of their service areas, the types of services they provide and their rates.
- If you’ve decided that La Pawtite is right for you (good choice by the way), the first step is to schedule a phone consultation. We have found that this is the most efficient way of gathering initial information on what your and your pet’s needs are. Give us a call at 240-367-4608 to set up your phone consultation!
During your phone consultation, we’ll discuss the type and frequency of care you need, when you need it, we’ll get to know more about your pet, provide an estimated cost of care, go over some of our most important polices and give you a brief general overview of La Pawtite. It is our goal to provide you with as much information upfront as possible about us and how we operate.
- If you’re happy with what you’ve heard, we’ll schedule a complimentary in-person meet and greet. The meet and greet is designed for you to get to know us as your pet’s care provider as well as to allow your pet to see if he or she likes us, too. We like to spend this meeting interacting with your pet as much as we can, which is why we prefer to have all the heavy legal stuff taken care of before we arrive.
- Once we’ve scheduled your meet and greet, we’ll also send you an email with information on your next steps. You’ll receive a welcome email to create an account through our client portal where you can download and fill out all the necessary documents and our New Client Welcome Package that includes lots of helpful information.
- In order for services to begin seamlessly and when you need them, please read these emailed instructions carefully and have everything ready before the meeting.
Question : But what if we decide not to hire La Pawtite after the meet and greet? Right, so kitty or pup doesn’t seem to like our sitter and it’s obviously not a good fit…now what? No worries, we suggest that you still fill out our service agreement, but you may hold off on providing your signatures until you’re confident we’re the right choice for you. That way, if for any reason it doesn’t work out, simply destroy the documents; you’re not held to anything unless the service agreement is signed by both parties.
Once we have collected all the necessary paperwork, copies of your house keys, and you have activated your account, you are all set. Now the fun part begins where we get to spend some quality time with your pet!
After your visits, you will receive updates on your pet and how each visit went (with pics too if you like!).
We love what we do and hope to provide all our clients excellent care and service. Please contact us so we can discuss how we can help you!
